Kanawha County Extension Service Committee
The West Virginia State Code (WVC 19-8-1) establishes a county Extension Service Committee (ESC) that guides the county extension service and provides assistance in developing programs. The ESC develops an annual budget and presents budgetary requests to the county commission and the county board of education. The ESC also makes local approval of the staffing of county extension agents. The group meets quarterly. Meetings are open to the public.
Provisions in the state code appoint leaders of various extension-related programs to the ESC and three citizens that serve as advisors. Currently, the WVU Kanawha County Extension Service Committee is composed of:
