People in your community. Knowledge at your doorstep.
Extension programs reflect the needs and interests within the local community. As a federal, state, and local partnership, Extension programming brings together knowledge and resources from a host of sources. Every county is different, so not all programs are available in each county. Learn more about any of WVU Extension’s four program areas to understand how it serves West Virginians.
Community, Economic, & Workforce Development
Researching timely issues and providing educational assistance to address local community, economic and workforce development needs throughout the state is a task Extension is uniquely positioned to undertake. WVU Extension has programs in Community Resources and Economic Development, Fire Service Extension training, Labor Studies and Research, and Safety and Health. These programs, individually or combined, are valuable in maintaining our state’s communities.
